ALIMENTA 2025: Technology and Collaboration at the Heart of Brazil’s Poultry Industry

From June 16 to 18, PhageLab participated in the first edition of the International Animal Protein Congress and Fair, ALIMENTA 2025. The event brought together key players from the poultry sector in Curitiba, Brazil.

An industry that moves fast and thinks ahead

In the context of avian influenza cases in some regions of the country, ALIMENTA 2025 highlighted how Brazil responds in a coordinated and strategic way to these types of challenges. As Javier Von Marees, Product Manager at PhageLab, explained, “It was eye-opening to see how Brazil mobilizes its capabilities to minimize the impact. These robust processes and high standards of control enable producers to continue meeting their export commitments.”

The event made it clear that Brazil has elevated its health and traceability standards to impressive levels, creating new opportunities for innovation through technologies like those offered by PhageLab.

Commitment, trust, and local capabilities

A central message of the event was the importance of restoring and strengthening trust, both within the industry and with international markets. According to Camilo Avendaño, Head of Customer Experience, “It was shared during the event that the industry needed only one month to resolve the issue from a commercial standpoint. That speaks to Brazil’s strong commitment and agility. In other countries, similar processes have taken up to six times longer.”

Technology and capabilities to support growth

PhageLab’s participation in ALIMENTA 2025 reinforced our potential to contribute to Brazil’s poultry industry across several strategic areas, from the on-site application of technological solutions to deep data analysis. Brazil is undoubtedly a key global player in poultry production, and at PhageLab we are excited about the opportunity to continue supporting the industry’s health, productivity, and growth.
